3 Minimalist Tips for Productivity

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome back to Easlo's newsletter. Every week, I curate actionable tips to help supercharge your productivity and growth.

Today's Focus: 3 Minimalist Tips for Productivity

Tip 1: Use Greyscale Mode on Your Phone

During work hours, I turn on the greyscale filter on my phone.

By removing colors, your phone becomes less distracting.

This strategy is useful if you need your phone for work and don't want to turn it off completely.

Using your phone in greyscale helps you be more intentional and focused on the task at hand.

Tip 2: Hide Unnecessary Clutter like Browser Tabs

Close any browser tabs you're not currently using.

The more tabs you have open, the more likely you are to switch tasks.

While it may seem like you're accomplishing more, task switching actually reduces your productivity.

This is because each time you switch tasks, you interrupt your flow state and need time to adjust to the new activity.

Tip 3: Apply the 80/20 Rule Everywhere

Concentrate on the 20% that yields 80% of your results, not just in your work, but in all areas of your life.

In learning a new skill, 20% of your materials likely contribute to 80% of your learning outcomes.

Likewise, focusing on the top 20% of your relationships can provide you with emotional fulfillment and support without spreading yourself too thin.

Lastly, instead of aimlessly scrolling through social media or watching random shows on your streaming service, consume the 20% of entertainment sources that genuinely engage you and leave you feeling good.

Tool Of The Week: Superhuman

Superhuman is my go-to for emails.

I've been using it for over a year and haven't looked back.

It offers a variety of handy keyboard shortcuts and built-in features such as email templates to help you achieve inbox zero.

If you haven't tried it yet, maybe today's the day?

Favourite Quote This Week:

“Easy choices, hard life. Hard choices, easy life.”

Jerzy Gregorek

It's the consistency of making hard decisions that leads to an easier life.

Choosing to wake up early instead of sleeping in.

Choosing to exercise rather than lying on your couch.

Choosing to learn instead of scrolling through social media.

I hope you enjoyed this issue, and I will talk to you soon next week.
