3 Questions That Will Improve Your Productivity

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome back to Easlo's newsletter. Every week, I curate actionable tips to help supercharge your productivity and growth.

Today's Focus: 3 Questions That Will Improve Your Productivity

Question 1: Is this within my control?

When something unexpected happens, we often complain, which causes us to lose even more time and energy.

We must learn to tell the difference between what is in our control and what is outside of our control.

If you want to take charge of your productivity, focus on what you can control.

Question 2: Does this actually matter?

Don't try to solve a problem that doesn't need solving.

Don't try to optimize what you can eliminate.

Consider whether the task at hand actually matters or whether your time and energy can be better spent elsewhere.

Question 3: What 20% of efforts lead to 80% of the results?

This is derived from the Pareto Principle, also known as the 80/20 rule.

We all have 24 hours in a day.

The difference lies in how we choose to spend our time.

We can either focus on the 20% of high-impact activities or the 80% of less impactful ones.

Tool of the Week: “Inbox” Page

This is more of an idea you can implement in your own task management app.

In the moment, it can be hard to tell what actually matters or what is the 20% you should be focusing on.

This is why having an “Inbox” page is so important.

Every day when a new idea or task pops up, I consolidate them on my inbox page. Then, reviewing these newly added items at the end of each week, I can identify and focus on what's important and eliminate the rest.

“You can do anything, but not everything.”

David Allen

Ask these three questions daily.

  1. Is this within my control?

  2. Does this actually matter?

  3. What 20% of efforts lead to 80% of the results?

You may soon find yourself achieving more while doing less.
