3 Tips to Stop Procrastinating and Get Things Done

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome back to Easlo's newsletter. Every week, I curate actionable tips to help supercharge your productivity and growth.

Today's Focus: 3 Tips to Stop Procrastinating and Get Things Done

Tip 1: Output before input.

Why do we feel overwhelmed when we finally sit down and want to get things done?

The explanation is simple for most people.

Scrolling through social media, checking new messages, and consuming podcasts and videos before work leads to a feeling of overwhelmed.

While it's important to stay informed about work-relevant information, we can choose to avoid unnecessary information that clutters our minds and distracts us from our intentions.

Tip 2: Action leads to motivation.

Waiting for the right time and motivation only brings about more doubt and feelings of tiredness.

Most commonly, it’s normal that we feel grogginess when we first wake up in the morning.

What I like to do is to set an intention to do 1-3 tasks tomorrow the night before. Every morning, I wake up and get straight to doing the tasks.

This allows me to quickly overcome that feeling of grogginess.

Movement, whether physical in the form of exercise or getting your brain up and running with the smallest task, is how you transition from an idle state to getting things done.

Tip 3: Focus on what you can control.

Most people spend more mental energy worrying about what is beyond their control.

We worry about what other people think of our work and the results of our work.

Shifting our focus away from what we cannot control to what we can control is how we can gain more clarity over what we can do and get things done.

Tool of the Week: Unhook

Though the internet including YouTube provides access to global knowledge, it often comes with the greater downside of distraction.

Unhook is a Chrome extension that transforms YouTube from a source of distraction into a platform for intentional use and learning.

You can hide trending videos, recommended videos, comments, shorts, and more.
