Do this when you fail to be consistent.

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome back to Easlo's newsletter. Every week, I curate actionable tips to help supercharge your productivity and embrace minimalism.

What to do when you fail to be consistent?

You've probably heard enough about consistency.

It's often said that you have to follow your time-blocking schedule consistently or wake up at the same time every day.

The truth is closer to 90% consistency, with the remaining 10% being where we fall off our routines.

What separates winners from losers is how they respond after those few times they fall short of their own expectations.

Winners bounce back, and they do it quickly.

I believe there are two ways to bounce back fast:

First, accept that you failed to be consistent, then move on to what you can do in the present and future.

Second, start small to rebuild trust in what you set out to do. For example, tell yourself you'll clean your room and do it, or plan to have a healthy dinner and make it happen.

A side benefit of this is what some call the "Winner Effect," where winning increases the likelihood of success in more areas.

In other words, build up your small wins.

Tool of the Week: SelfControl

SelfControl is a free macOS app that blocks access to distracting websites.

What sets it apart from regular app blockers is that even if you restart your computer or delete the application, it still works.

SelfControl

For me, I just like its simple design and singular purpose.

While I don't think you need app blockers all day long, they can help when you find yourself distracted on your computer.

Favourite Quote This Week:

"It doesn't matter how deep you fall, what matters is how high you bounce back."

Maybe it's time to start looking up and see how high you can bounce back.

I hope you enjoyed this issue, and I will talk to you soon next week.
